David Shockey and wife Judy, were led to Salt Branch Cowboy Church back in the Spring of 2017. David is honored to uphold the position of Elder and the Men’s Ministry leader at Salt Branch Cowboy Church. He thoroughly enjoys being in the sound booth on Sunday mornings and when SBCC playday season comes around, he heads to the arena to help out anywhere he is needed. David grew up in a military family of which his father was a Lay Pastor and served in the United States Air Force. Right out of high school in 1975 he became a member of the USAF and after proudly serving for 23 years, he retired in 1998 and has remained in the Abilene area since.
David and Judy are the owners of Shockey Stables just south of Abilene where they offer horseback riding lessons and special occasion rides to the public. They are also honored to be able to host 3, week long, Christian Horse Camps in the summer for 9-14 year olds.
